Cigarettes have become an iconic symbol for Lana Del Rey’s brand as she is notorious for being photographed with a cigarette. Using this as inspiration for the design, the album cover was created by using cigarettes to burn polaroids of the singer, and using the ash to create a unique texture used consistently throughout the cover, label, and lyric booklet. The grayscale color palette reinforces the sense of nostalgia that follows the EP’s four tracks produced during her early career.
